Please review the following race rules and instructions before race day
Please make your way to the registration tent located in the sports pavilion and collect your race number on the day of the event. Registration will be open from 9.30am.
To participate in the Aldbury 5 cross country race you must be 17 years of age or older on the 27th June 2021.
There are facilities to store of baggage on the day of the race. Any items left are left entirely at the owners risk and the organisers do not accept any responsibility for any loss or damage caused to any property.
In the event of the event having to be cancelled due to factors outside of the control of the race organisers (including but not limited to the COVID pandemic) then entrants will be given the option of deferral of their entry for one year or a full refund.
In all other circumstances, no refunds will be made of entry fees and no deferral of places will be permitted.
Safety and legal Notices
You must be fit to take part, and if necessary, should seek advice from your GP before entering the event.
Entrants must take care when crossing roads, although marshalling assistance may be given. Please follow marshals instructions at all times.
Whilst every reasonable care is taken, entrants cannot hold the organisers, sponsors or landowners responsible for their safety
The course is unsuitable for wheelchair users, and no accompanying dogs or following cycles are allowed
All entrants must show consideration for other users of public footpaths and rights of way. The route is open to the general public and crosses main roads on two occasions. The traffic on these roads will not be stopped.
Entry fees are non-refundable, including the cancellation of the event due to circumstances outside the organisers control
The organisers reserve the right to withdraw entrants from the event and anyone that opts to continue does so entirely at their own risk.
The run will take place through rugged, uneven and potentially muddy terrain. Appropriate footwear must be worn. It may also be cold or wet and thus entrants must take reasonable precautions.
The route is around an area of outstanding natural beauty so please ensure that no rubbish is left or discarded at any point on the route.
The start and finish of the race will be at the recreation ground on Stocks Road, Aldbury, HP23 5RX. There are toilets and ample free parking available at the start.
The use of ipods and mp3 players is permitted but please ensure that you are able to hear other runners and marshalls if using them.
Competitors will not be allowed to start the race after 11am, so please ensure you arrive before this time. If you arrive late and decide to run in any event, you will not be issued a number.
There is a cut off time of 1pm for all competitors. After this time marshals will not be available on the course.
Retiring from the race
If you do need to retire from the race for any reason can you please ensure you advise a marshal on the course or at the start/finish.
There are toilets and changing facilities at the start in the sports pavilion and showers are available.
